Summer Camp at The Gardens 2010

A family tradition!

Parents and children guide our children’s summer programs. Keeping your needs and requests first in mind, we have extended the hours of our traditional summer programs for your convenience. Beginning this summer, camps will be offered for children entering 5K-6 grades, Monday-Friday, from 9 a.m. 1 p.m. Children choose from a variety of favorite topics including nature and the outdoors, plants and our environment, cooking, art and more!

Programs are designed to actively promote your child’s natural sense of creativity and discovery with fun learning experiences in the unmatched setting at Birmingham Botanical Gardens! All sessions are taught by certified or otherwise qualified teachers. Light snack provided. Bring your own lunch and water bottle. Pre-registration is required. Register early! Scales and Tails
For children entering 5K-2 grades


Do you love to explore? This camp is for you! Come join us for fun as we visit a new garden each day and discover creatures with scales and some with tails. We’ll hear some fun tales too! Projects include art projects, nature crafts and yummy snacks.

Art & Yoga Camp
For children entering 3-6 grades
Team Instructors: Hilary Moreno, Artist & Graphic Designer
Susanna Whitsett, Group Fitness Instructor, certified in Yoga Ed.


Let your child stretch their creativity, imagination and body at our Art & Yoga Camp. This combination camp will allow children to explore color, texture, shape, movement, inner calm, outer strength, sound and silence. In addition, children’s literature, Garden walks and take-home projects will inform the daily themes. Parents are invited to attend a special art exhibition and parent/child yoga class on the final day of camp.
