Birmingham Botanical Gardens exists in large part as a partnership between the city of Birmingham and Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Friends of BBG is an organization of 2000 members and donors run by Executive director, Frederick R. Spicer, Jr. and a well-versed staff of more than sixteen professionals. Through funding and advocacy, Friends further restoration, preservation and development of The Gardens while focusing on its primary Mission, educating people about plants and the environment.
