Birmingham Botanical Gardens prepares to stage its largest-ever Spring Plant Sale – outpacing last year’s sale by thousands of plants – and effectively making it the largest plant sale in Alabama history. This year many selections will include drought tolerant plants including the signature plants, varieties of sedum. These low-growing perennials are colorful plants for bedding, containers, and other small spaces and are the quintessential “drought busters”.

This free-admission event, held once again at the former Bruno’s supermarket next to Colonial Brookwood Village (On Lakeshore Drive between Highways 31 and 280), showcases plants for every botanical taste and budget. Selections range from bedding plants all the way to exotic palms. Plants come from all over – some propagated in The Gardens’ own greenhouses, others from vendors statewide.

All proceeds will benefit Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

Parking will be available on both sides of the former Bruno’s. Shopping carts will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
