Sunday, July 3 | 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Join us for Tanabata, a Japanese festival celebrating the alignment of two stars normally separated by the Milky Way. As part of the two-day event, which is hosted in partnership with the Japan-America Society of Alabama and Birmingham sister city Maebashi-City, we invite you to hang a special wish on tanzaku (colorful paper strips) in the Bamboo Grove in our Japanese Garden.
During the celebration on Sunday, July 3, enjoy a glass of cold matcha and a tea demonstration by the Chado Urasenke Tankokai Birmingham Association at our Toshinan (teahouse).
Become a Friend of the Gardens and join us in our mission to protect, nurture, and share the wonders of Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Thank you for your support!
