SUMMARY:Invasive Plants 101: Maintenance\, Removal\, and Eco-Restoration
DESCRIPTION:Events\n      \n\n      \n          \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInvasive Plants 101: Maintenance\, Removal\, and Eco-Restoration\n\n\n  \n      \n      Instructor\n    \n    Isabelle Bracewell\n    \n  \n      \n      Location\n    \n    \n      Adventure Classroom\n    \n    \n   \n\n\n\nJoin Isabelle Bracewell of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to remove nuisance\, invasive\, non-native\, and aggressive woody plants from the residential garden. Participants will meet in the classroom for the first hour\, then walk to the Kaul Wildflower Garden\, where Bracewell will demonstrate pruning\, plant removal\, tree identification and restoration principles. \n\n\n\n All participants must bring their own garden gloves and wear long sleeves\, long pants and closed-toe shoes\, since the work is physical and requires entering densely vegetated spaces. The Gardens will provide all other tools. \n\n\n\n    \n                Members: $45\n                  |\n                        Nonmembers: $50\n                  \n  \n\n\n\nBecome a Friend of the Gardens and join us in our mission to protect\, nurture\, and share the wonders of Birmingham Botanical Gardens. (You are always welcome to send another person under your registration if you cannot attend.) Transfers may be made to programs of equal value at no additional fee. We reserve the right to cancel classes due to lack of participation or other unforeseen circumstances. Please note that programs are held rain or shine; in extreme weather conditions\, programs may be canceled for your safety and the safety of staff and volunteers. If we cancel a program for any of these reasons\, we will issue a full refund.
