Birmingham Botanical Gardens is open to all, every day of the week. Spring/summer hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. (through November 6). In light of the increased number of Covid-19 cases in Birmingham and Alabama, the City of Birmingham has implemented an ordinance requiring face coverings inside City-owned buildings and venues, including the Garden Center and other indoor facilities at the Gardens, effective July 29, 2021. Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens: $12 | Non-members: $15

Join us as we explore the art of well-being, Tai- ji Quan: the slow motion martial art originating in China formerly known as Tai Chi Chuan. In this course, teacher Stephen Guesman will convey the profound physical, mental and spiritual benefits that result from regular practice of disciplines such as T’ai Chi. This is an intermediate program.

A note from the Friends: Registrants are encouraged to practice social distancing (marked spaces will be provided) and are required to bring their own yoga mats and props. Please note that face masks are required when interacting with others outside of your family group in the Gardens, and for entering the Garden Center. Face masks are not required while taking part in outdoor yoga classes. For your own safety and the safety of others, we ask that you preregister online. Thank you!


Refunds (minus a $15 processing fee) will be given for Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens programs priced at $25 or more if notification is made at least 10 business days prior to class start date. (You are always welcome to send another person under your registration if you cannot attend.) Transfers may be made to programs of equal value at no additional fee. We reserve the right to cancel classes due to lack of participation or other unforeseen circumstances. Please note that programs are held rain or shine; in extreme weather conditions, programs may be canceled for your safety and the safety of staff and volunteers. If we cancel a program for any of these reasons, we will issue a full refund.
