Instructor: John Manion, Kaul Wildflower Garden Curator, Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens

Saturday, November 10 | 9 - 1 p.m.

Location: Birmingham Botanical Gardens

Members $45| Non-Members $50

The cooler temperatures and lessening of light in autumn triggers a cascade of changes in plants, as they begin their preparation for winter. Some of these changes result in a beautiful array of colors. Using The Gardens' extensive living collections as a hands-on resource, we will focus on attributes and identification features of species found naturally or in cultivation in Alabama. This class will begin in the classroom - and after learning some terminology and about the dynamics of fall color, we will spend time in the The Gardens, where we will identify numerous plant species. The class is weather-dependent and will be cancelled in the case of inclement conditions.

Refunds (minus a $15 processing fee) given if notification is made at least 10 business days prior to class start date. (You are always welcome to send another person under your registration if you cannot attend.) A $15 processing fee will be charged for class transfers at any time. We reserve the right to cancel classes due to lack of participation; if we cancel a class as such, we will issue a full refund. Please be aware that we strive to hold classes regardless of weather, so plan accordingly. In the unlikely event a class has to be cancelled due to inclement weather, we will attempt to notify you, and a refund (minus a $15 processing fee) will be issued.
