A cherished place of respite and inspiration for more than 55 years, Birmingham Botanical Gardens is open to all, every day of the week, and we look forward to your visit. Fall/winter hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (through March 13); spring/summer hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. (March 14–November 7). Visitors are encouraged to practice social distancing. Face masks are required when interacting with others in the Gardens and for entering the Garden Center. For more information and guidelines for visiting safely, click here.

Join Alan Gurganus of the Jones Valley Teaching Farm as he explores how to plan, plant, and harvest an autumn vegetable garden. Attendees will discover how to design their garden spaces with the plants they want to grow in mind, which crops perform well in an Alabama garden, and whether to transplant or plant their vegetables from seed.

Hosted by the Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens, the webinar is part of the 2021 Brown Bag Lunch & Learn Series at Birmingham Botanical Gardens and is presented in partnership with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System; the Alabama Green Industry Training Center; the Jefferson County Department of Health; Jefferson County Commission; City of Leeds, Alabama; City of Birmingham Stormwater Management; and the Storm Water Management Authority, Inc.
