Birmingham Botanical Gardens is currently closed.
Due to the current public health state of emergency, the Birmingham Park and Recreation Board voted March 16 to close the Gardens and Garden Center, with an unspecified date for reopening, in an effort to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). In addition, Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens programs, events, and activities have been canceled or postponed through April 30. Please check back for updates. We extend our sincere hopes for the good health and well-being of the entire community.

Class + as-is barrel (with or without predrilled holes): $35

Class + ready-to-install barrel: $65

Construct your own "ready-to-install' 55-gallon rain barrel with the assistance from presenters and helpers, or just come learn how to make your own at home. There are 40 barrels available with a limit of one barrel per registrant—first come, first served! Barrels will come "ready to install' with spigot and overflow holes drilled; faucet and insect screen will be provided. If you do not want holes drilled into your barrel, please inform us of this at registration.

Refunds (minus a $15 processing fee) given if notification is made at least 10 business days prior to class start date. (You are always welcome to send another person under your registration if you cannot attend.) A $15 processing fee will be charged for class transfers at any time. We reserve the right to cancel classes due to lack of participation; if we cancel a class as such, we will issue a full refund. Please be aware that we strive to hold classes regardless of weather, so plan accordingly. In the unlikely event a class has to be cancelled due to inclement weather, we will attempt to notify you, and a refund (minus a $15 processing fee) will be issued.
