Join the Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens on Saturdays in The Gardens!
Saturdays in The Gardens are a series of programs designed to help both novice and seasoned gardeners alike hone their skills in a hands-on setting, focusing on basic gardening skills and trends. Programs will be held monthly with an in-classroom lesson, then participants will complete a related service project in The gardens. Programs will be presented by the Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens and led by local experts.
May: Plant a Container!
Jay Draper of SHOPPE will cover what types of plants are best suited for containers along with some fresh ways of using containers together, incorporating them into your garden designs and transitioning them from season to season. Participants will work with the experts to create a seasonal container display in the Thompson Enthusiast’s Garden.
Refunds (minus a $15 processing fee) given if notification is made at least 10 business days prior to class start date. (You are always welcome to send another person under your registration if you cannot attend.) A $15 processing fee will be charged for class transfers at any time. We reserve the right to cancel classes due to lack of participation; if we cancel a class as such, we will issue a full refund. Please be aware that we strive to hold classes regardless of weather, so plan accordingly. In the unlikely event a class has to be cancelled due to inclement weather, we will attempt to notify you, and a refund (minus a $15 processing fee) will be issued.
