Saturdays in the Gardens: Plant a Vegetable Garden
Led by Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens staff
Saturday, April 18, 2020 | 10 a.m.–12 p.m.
Join the Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens for Saturdays in the Gardens, a series of programs designed to help novice and seasoned gardeners alike hone gardening skills in a hands-on setting. Local experts discuss approachable gardening topics and trends, lead garden walks, and conduct demonstrations and activities. Programs, presented by the Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens, are held monthly January through May and September through December on third Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.
April: Plant a Vegetable Garden
Participants will learn how to plan and plant a sustainable vegetable garden from expert volunteers with the Friends Birmingham Botanical Gardens’ Harvest for the Hungry program. Participants will work side by side with volunteers to plant spring crops in the Bruno Vegetable Garden, where plants harvested will feed members of the Birmingham community who suffer from food insecurity.
CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY
Refunds (minus a $15 processing fee) will be given for Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens programs priced at $25 or more if notification is made at least 10 business days prior to class start date. (You are always welcome to send another person under your registration if you cannot attend.) Transfers may be made to programs of equal value at no additional fee. We reserve the right to cancel classes due to lack of participation or other unforeseen circumstances. If we cancel a program for any of these reasons, we will issue a full refund.
