Birmingham Botanical Gardens is open!
After a three-month closure, Birmingham Botanical Gardens reopened to the public on Monday, June 15. A cherished place of respite for our community and visitors from around the world for more than 55 years, Birmingham Botanical Gardens is open to all, and we look forward to your visit. The Gardens are currently open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day of the week, with access limited to the front entrance gates. Visitors are encouraged to practice social distancing. Face masks are required when interacting with others in the Gardens and for entering the Garden Center. For more information and guidelines for visiting safely, click here. Learn tips for creating elegant arrangements of seasonal flowers easily at home with renowned Birmingham florist Dorothy McDaniel of Dorothy McDaniel's Flower Market. Use your own flowers and materials or purchase everything you need ahead of time directly from Dorothy.* Details on the flowers and materials used will be sent via email following program registration.

*Flowers, containers, and other materials for Dorothy's arrangement are available for advance purchase through Dorothy McDaniel's Flower Market. Orders must be places by Saturday, August 8 to guarantee pick up or delivery prior to the program.


Refunds (minus a $15 processing fee) will be given for Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens programs priced at $25 or more if notification is made at least 10 business days prior to class start date. (You are always welcome to send another person under your registration if you cannot attend.) Transfers may be made to programs of equal value at no additional fee. We reserve the right to cancel classes due to lack of participation or other unforeseen circumstances. Please note that programs are held rain or shine; in extreme weather conditions, programs may be canceled for your safety and the safety of staff and volunteers. If we cancel a program for any of these reasons, we will issue a full refund.
