Invasive Plants 101: Maintenance, Removal, and Eco-Restoration
Join Isabelle Bracewell of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to remove nuisance, invasive, non-native, and aggressive woody plants from the residential garden. Participants will meet in the classroom for the first hour, then walk to the Kaul Wildflower Garden, where Bracewell will demonstrate pruning, plant removal, tree identification and restoration principles.
All participants must bring their own garden gloves and wear long sleeves, long pants and closed-toe shoes, since the work is physical and requires entering densely vegetated spaces. The Gardens will provide all other tools.
Become a Friend of the Gardens and join us in our mission to protect, nurture, and share the wonders of Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Thank you for your support!
