What appears as a sea of lush green will, upon closer examination, open up into a world of endless variations of textures, hues, and shapes of our nationally recognized fern collection. As an official test site for the Hardy Fern Foundation, this glade not only displays species of ferns that grow well in Birmingham but also actively tests new ferns for their adaptability to our climate under the care of the Birmingham Fern Society.
