 Q: How do I get my exclusive Member gift?

A: Simply call our offices at 205.414.3950 to make an appointment to pick up your exclusive Member gift. (Limit one gift per membership. Gifts have no cash value and cannot be mailed.)

Friend, Dual & Family Levels

Q: What gardens honor reciprocal admission privileges?

A. Click the button below to explore or download an up-to-date list of 340+ participating gardens. Some gardens have certain exclusions for special events or if you live within 90 miles of the garden, and each garden has its own unique admissions policy and hours of operation. Be sure to take your current membership card with you when you travel!

Q: How do I learn about Members-only classes and events?

A: As a current member, you have the exclusive opportunity to attend special Members-only programs each year. Class offerings are posted

Preregistration is required for any event or program that you wish to attend.

Q: Will I receive a ticket to get into Spring Plant Sale Member-priority shopping?

A: Yes, please bring your membership card for check-in. We will also have a current list on hand for entrance. Your membership will admit:

One person at the following level:
Friend

Two people at the following levels:
Dual, Family

Three people at the following levels:
Contributor, Supporter

Four people at the following levels:
Ambassador, Benefactor Circle

Q: How do I get my out-of-county library card?

A: The normal charge for an out-of-county library card is $50 per year. The Library at Birmingham Botanical Gardens will waive $35 of that fee, if you are a current Member of the Friends.

To receive your library card, bring your current Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens membership card and current Alabama driver’s license to the Library at the Gardens. The $15 yearly fee must be renewed at the Library at the Gardens.

Q: I am a Member at the Family (or higher) level; when will I begin to receive my subscription to Birmingham Home & Garden?

A: Your current membership provides a one-year subscription (6 issues) to Birmingham Home & Garden. Due to processing, it can take 4-8 weeks for you to receive your first issue. Please note that this complimentary subscription does not include special editions.

Q: How do I receive my Member discount in the gift shop or at the café?

A: Members should present their current membership card at checkout to receive their 10% discount. Members dining in the Gardens Café by Kathy G should mention to their waiter that they are current Members before the check is delivered for quickest service. The gift shop discount applies to regularly priced purchases at Leaf & Petal at the Gardens and does not apply to other Leaf & Petal locations.

Q:What participating nurseries, garden centers, and flower shops offer 10% off to our Members?

A: All levels receive one card per membership. Additional cards may be requested. Contact our donor services coordinator at 205.414.3950, ext. 117.

Q: How can I replace a lost or stolen membership card?

A: Please contact our donor services coordinator at 205.414.3950, ext. 117, for a replacement card. Please allow up to one week for delivery.

A: As a member, you will

Q: Is my membership tax-deductible?

 A: Your membership is tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Please consult your tax adviser.
